Monday and whatnot

Hi, it's D.R. It's a cold, damp day here. Yesterday I went to church. Later in the day, I stopped at the Office Depot and got some new markers. I'm still basking in the happiness of owning an Aluratek Internet radio, which can receive signals for any of tens of thousands of online stations, all without having to turn on your computer. I have saved a bunch of favorites, from U.S. music channels to the traffic reports from overseas. I just find it so peaceful, in a very odd way, to listen to voices reciting over and over again, what are the latest traffic incidents from London or Cardiff or someplace. I tried to get one of the main radio stations in Kingston, Jamaica, because I thought the music would be really good, but for some reason it was having reception problems over the weekend. Hope it's all straightened out soon. Anyway, I can get stations from almost any country on the planet. It's great! And all I had to pay for was the radio; there are no monthly charges.

My dog is okay. She was a little sluggish this weekend, but that could be due to the weather. Today she ate a good breakfast and went for a walk, so that's pretty much normal.

I also had a lot of fun with my Sony e-book Reader. I'm almost halfway through a good mystery novel set in Australia. This thing is helping me get through books a lot faster-- for some reason, I find the electronic print a lot easier to take in than some of the small fonts you can see on a regular page. I don't think I'll stop reading regular books just yet, but this machine is very good if you want to take a lot of book files somewhere, without filling up your carry-bag.

November 15

It's almost Thanksgiving. We will probably have the family dinner at my house. I sometimes wind up liking the leftover turkey soup you have the day after, better than the main turkey itself. I hope we have corn on the cob, too.

My regular computer died the other day. It was about three years old, and had been having huge problems with memory, freezes and such. I was almost glad this happened. Now I've switched to a laptop, and things are running much more smoothly. The video functions are better, the speed is better, and all I will have to do is maybe buy another storage drive.

I also cleaned out a giant box in my closet. It had a lot of papers and things, my tennis racket bag, some sheets and clothes I had forgotten I put there. I hate to clean, but it was nice to find those things after a while.

It's Sunday again

Hello. Funny how that happens every week! ;)

The fans weren't on in church this morning. Yipes.

On the positive side, we got a new deacon. He was just ordained yesterday. Everyone applauded him.

I got some good audiobooks from the library. I've been listening to a lot of those lately. Still haven't played Storm Rise on the X Box 360. Should be a good afternoon.

Hi. It's October already. The weather has just started to cool off here. I don't have a costume for Halloween. My dog does, though-- it's a dragon with purple spots. :)

I rented some movies, and most of them weren't any good, unfortunately. On two of them, the video store guy forgot to remove the stupid clips that keep the cases shut. :(

I rented a new game from Game Fly, "Stormrise" or something. I don't know what it's like.

Got a little reading done today. I've also been listening to my audiobooks.

They started the week without me...

Hello. Today's the 21st of September. They've started showing English Premier League games on two channels now (where I live), so I got to spend most of the morning in a pleasant fog. The local library doesn't open on Mondays, so I've had to go online and check their audiobook collection-- and wouldn't you know it, most of that is checked out too.

I had to uninstall some programs today that were just giving me too much grief. I hope it will save some memory. Lately, I've tried to erase a number of things, but no matter what I do, the amount of free gigabytes never seems to increase. Maybe I need to run the defragmenter later on.

I got a fairly decent soccer video game. Also rented a couple of other things. Think I'll play some before I leave. See you later. Thanks. :)

Hello. I have a test tomorrow, for a possible job with a Hillsborough County government office, so I've taken the day off. It'll be nice to just come home and sleep off the tension.

It's very hot here. I can't wait for fall to arrive. There are lots of games to watch, so I can stay inside and enjoy the air conditioning. :)

I can't wait for hockey season to get going. I think it starts next month. There's a site where you can download games from youth hockey leagues, and I may just do that. :)

Today I started listening to an audiobook copy of "Honor Bound" by W.E.B. Griffin. It's pretty good.
